Specially for Bagel & Beans we designed a Weed Burger that can be prepared without a grill. Served on a bagel of your choice: a salty experience with a crispy crust!
FROM BURGER TO BAGEL
In the summer of 2014 we met Ronald and Ninande, founders of the Bagels & Beans concept. Soon we realised that our philosophies were very similar and that we really wanted to work together, spreading the plant-based message. In August 2014 we started a pilot at their Flagship store in IJdock, Amsterdam, which went really well, but there was a challenge. Most of the Bagels & Beans shops couldn’t grill our classic Dutch Weed Burger in their kitchens, so we had to develop a new one that could be prepared in a hot oven. We tested this version and we got lots of positive feedback, luckily also from Ronald and Ninande.
We proudly present you The Dutch Weed Burger Bagel, which will be available at the beginning of August 2016 at all the Bagels & Beans restaurants. We hope you like it as much as we do!
SUSTAINABLE PLANT POWER
The Dutch Weed Burger is entirely palm oil free, vegetarian, vegan, kosher and halal. Virtually everyone can enjoy them! Combine it with a bagel of your own choosing, but make sure you pick a plant-based one since not all of the bagels at Bagels & Beans are vegan.
We use soy beans from controlled cultivation in mostly Europe (75%) and North America, obviously NON-GMO. Right now we’re even testing soy from Dutch soil! The patty is enriched with a tasty and healthy winter seaweed called Royal Kombu, sustainably cultivated in the Dutch region of Zeeland. Our Weed Sauce is made from organic ingredients and enriched with Sea Lettuce. We’re continuously working on optimizing our entire production cycle to make our products as sustainable as possible.
